Voices of Thump and Plunk

Trait: Voice
Title: Thump and Plunk
Author: Janice May Udry

Thump and Plunk
by Janice May Udry is a good example of the trait, voice. The actions and words of the characters really give the reader a glimpse of what the characters are thinking. It is very cute too!

Voice

Trait:  Voice
Title:  The Day We Met You
Author:  Pheobe Koehler

This book Is written from the perspective of a mom and a dad who adopt a baby.  Through the parents voice it tells the story of the day they met their baby and brought her home.  For example:  "We borrowed a car seat so you could ride home safe."  and  "The minute we saw you we knew that we loved you."

I Ain't Gonna Paint No More!

I Ain't Gonna Paint No More, by Karen Beaumont

I thought this book was a good example of Voice, because of the way the little boy exaggerates everything he says. He had his own exciting personality, which made it exciting to read. What will he paint next? His head? His leg? The illustrations made the book even more interesting to look at.

6+1 trait Voice

The book I chose for the 6+1 trait was Goldilocks and the Three Bears by James Marshall. This book is full of dialogue and is a little different from the original version. I hope you like it :).
